11th Annual Immunize Nebraska Conference

Purpose:  To bring together individuals from Nebraska and surrounding States who are interested in promoting optimal immunization levels that will eliminate vaccine preventable diseases throughout the lifespan of all persons.

Objectives: 

• Discuss recent updates in vaccine policy statements and recommended Immunization Schedule for pediatric vaccines
• Discuss adult vaccine updates and recommendations (including pneumococcal and other adult vaccines)
• Describe the movement that educates, connects and empowers persons to champion vaccines as one of the most cost-effective ways to save lives
• Explain which immunizations would protect both mother and newborn and specific immunization guidelines for pregnant women
• Examine key issues, safety concerns and questions regarding vaccines in the United States
• Discuss, network and view poster presentations of current and future recommendations for childhood and adult immunization
• Discuss how public reaction to vaccine safety and misinformation has contributed to a significant increase in preventable diseases and how educating parents could play a key role in allaying vaccine fears
• Describe communication tools, resources and activities for public health professionals, immunization programs and providers to improve vaccine awareness
• Utilize communication strategies and marketing tools with vaccine-hesitant parents and patients, including adolescents
• Describe the Nebraska State Immunization Information System (NESIIS) and discuss Nebraska immunization updates
