Conference Objectives

  • Identify the role of the medical team in responding to sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
  • Review how to work effectively with agencies responding to sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
  • Identify the diagnostic and therapeutic interventions involved in the care of the pregnant women with diabetes during the prenatal period.
  • Recognize the risks, complications, and interventions involved in the care of the pregnant woman with diabetes during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
  • Examine the impact that maternal diabetes can have on the neonate.
  • Identify the symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse and the treatment options available.
  • Review the evaluation and treatment of infertility.
  • Recognize the issues involved in providing breastfeeding support to patients from a variety of cultures.
