T.J. Urban, Ph.D. - Annual Memorial Lecture
Friday, September 15, 2017: Creighton University – Mike and Josie Harper Center, Ahmanson Ballroom, 602 N. 20th Street, Omaha, NE
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Patrick Lillis
Theodore J. Urban, Ph.D. joined the faculty of Creighton University in 1954. He served the School of Dentistry as chair of Oral Biology and as Associate Dean. A beloved figure, he received the University's distinguished Service Award in 1984 and four times was honored as Outstanding Teacher of the Year in his 36 years at Creighton.
Dr. Urban was a tireless advocate for and mentor of students. He never failed to offer a guiding hand or a needed admonishment for the personal welfare and professional development of all his students. He quietly accomplished whatever needed to be done, always with a smile and infectious sense of humor.
His presence in the Dental School is truly missed. To honor his memory, and endowment has been established to ensure his legacy will be permanently preserved through an annual lecture that is part of the continuing education program at the School of Dentistry.
The T.J. Urban Memorial Lecture Series was founded by the generous support of one of his former students. Gifts to this endowment can be made online at creighton.edu/development.
