Former Senior Advisor for Environmental Justice and Community Revitalization at U.S. Environmental Protection Agency

Purpose

The goal of the conference is to increase the knowledge, skills, and ability of academia, health professionals and community to address health disparities and the effects of environmental issues; ecological environment and built environment, in preventing and improving chronic diseases. 

Objectives

At the end of this workshop, the participants should be able to: 

  • Describe “Environmental Justice” and “Environmental Health.” 
  • Recognize the different environmental factors that define our communities’ health. 
  • Discuss Strategies for developing, implementing, and evaluating environmental improvements. 
  • Recognize the role of individuals in providing environmental justice. 

Education Credits

Includes certificate of attendance and 7.5 Continuing Education Credits (Category 1, ANCC, ACPE)
